-
- 6. ** QUIT ** Allows you to end the game and return to DOS.
-
- TO START : At the DOS prompt type MC followed by ENTER. Then the
- theme song will be played. You can either wait until the whole song is
- played or you can press a keyboard key or keep a mouse button pressed
- for a while to stop the music before it finishes. Then the program
- information will be displayed. Now you are ready to start.
-
- TO PLAY : For a quick start just click on the PICTURES menu, point and
- click on a color from the palette and start coloring in. When
- all of the Yellow sections are colored in, music will play.
-
- SCORING : Your current Score and Game will be displayed at the bottom
- of the screen. Scoring is very simple. You start out with a
- score of 100. Then for every mistake you make, a point is subtracted.
-
- SHORTCUT : Clicking on the smiling face, in the upper left corner of
- the screen, is equivalent to selecting the PICTURES menu entry.
- ( We included this option knowing that children too young to read will
- be playing MAGIC CRAYON )
-
- COLORING ALTERNATIVE : When coloring in, the keyboard spacebar can be
- used instead of the mouse button. Just hold the spacebar
- down and move over the surfaces you want to color in.
-
- COLOR MEMORY Exception: Since BROWN and DARK RED colors look very alike,
- you can use them interchangeably without penalty.
-
- MAGIC CRAYON GAME PHILOSOPHY
-
- Magic crayon combines the challenges and rewards of games with
- teaching basic principles. This approach works well because it is fun.
-
- A. COLORING BOOK: will help children explore and play with colors. It
- brings out the artistic qualities in them. The registered
- version includes twenty pictures to color again and again.
-
- B. COLOR SHADING: teaches visual perception and visual discrimination.
- These skills are very important in geometry and geography.
- Registration includes thirty hidden shapes to color in and discover.
-
